Races
The deformed, red-skinned race. Their major technical achievements are in artificial life. Their speech patterns are confusing. They control a vast galactic empire.
The massive race. They are a race of pirates. They have an odd scent many races find attractive. They have large litters. Their society is dependent on one technology: virtual reality. They tattoo/mark their integument in various ways for cultural purposes. They come from a high-gravity, hot world.
The bulky race. Certain sensory extremes are painful to them. They reproduce quickly. They control a great government from behind the scenes. There is another race they worship as gods. Their world of origin is icy, resource-rich, and is known for its many natural wonders.
The ice-based, spine-covered race. They have voracious appetites. Their society is dependent on one technology: computers. They are very dishonest. Their government is a feudal system. They once ruled a great empire, but were utterly defeated in a war.
The thin, energy-based race. They are masters of chemistry. They are addicted to the pleasures taking nutrition (whatever method they use). Their government is a democracy. Alien artifacts figured prominently in their past. Their world of origin is pleasant, has a single ring surrounding it, and is known to have been desrtroyed some time in the past.
The tiny race of frog-people. By tradition, they are a race of mercenaries. Their method of extretion is infamously disgusting. They change genders as they age. They are very unforgiving. They are working to join a large, star system-spanning government. They are actually highly sophisticated machines created by another people.
The deformed race. Their tongues are used not just for taste, but for smell as well. This race moves along on tentacles instead of legs. They are herbivores. They never need to sleep. By tradition, they are a race of linguists. They are masters of virtual reality. They are a growing empire. Their origin is a mystery - even their supposed world of origin doesn't seem to be their homeworld. They come from another time.
The water-based race that resembles the dragons of earth mythology. By tradition, they are a race of craftsmen. They are masters of computers. Their government is a meritocracy that is entirely dysfunctional. They control a great government from behind the scenes.
The gas-based race of reptiles. Biologically they are inclined to be archaeologists. Their society is split by gender - males and females are separate cultures. Their society is dependent on one technology: artificial life. They control a solar system.
The monstrous-looking, bat-like race. They have multiple mouths. By necessity, they are a race of strategists. They would conquer the galaxy if they could, but so far haven't proven to be very good at it. Another race created them artificially. They come from another time.
